I still lust after a Plymouth Prowler, even knowing that it's drivetrain is essentially pulled out of an Intrepid.
Nonetheless, would still hoon.

Dude - with rear mounting trans, rear wheel drive. Immediately better than an Intrepid. Just by virtue of FR layout, it's at least Jalop tolerable (Jalolerable?) even with an auto trans. Probably wouldn't be impossible to swap to something stick, either, even if very complicated.

Intrepids were fwd, doe

What did they do the rear of that thing?

Oh man the front plate looks so bad on that. I think Plymouth prowlers are cool, but then again I like slow cars.

Look up some videos of Intrepids with aftermarket exhausts. You'll probably change your mind about that engine, it sounds great.
Plus it weighs 2800 pounds and makes 250hp in later versions. It's a Miata on steroids with a funky face.
I think the only thing "Wrong" with it is that the performance isn't the same as the old school hot rods it was built to look like.

I loved it as a kid (thanks to Night Man ). I actually own a 1/43 model of it, in purple, precisely because it was the same colour as the one in that show.

it's a truck...well, as much of a truck as an ssr.

LS1+6 speed swap. I believe Lingenfelter Performance did one.

There was a recall on the older Intrepids, on the cats. Once removed, one guy started the car to move it. Sounded like a (older) F1 car.

But the engine is longitudinally mounted.

They actually sound nice too. These cars are just cool even if not quick in stock form.

That later 3.2/3.5 was a great engine. 260+n/a hp and bullit proof.
I've owned 3.
